Are You Gonna Eat All That? The Pantry

Is there such a thing as a pantry that is not busting at the seams?  Well, when you’re selling your home there needs to be!  Although it won’t be featured in any of the online photos of your home, to the woman of the house, the pantry space comes second only to the master closet.  That being said, the same principle regarding closets applies to the pantry; to make the area look spacious and organized.
Begin by completely removing everything in your pantry and clean, clean, clean!  Then return only essential items in an insanely organized manor that will make buyers admire you and hate you all in the same breath.  Stop stocking up on food items and extra cleaning supplies.  Remember, you are staging your home and a staged home doesn’t have a pantry with a twelve-month supply of Macaroni & Cheese.  This is also the perfect time to donate unused food items to your local food bank or your church’s food drive ministry.  Not only will you make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate, but the experience just may inspire you to give again and again in the future.  Now, if you have cans of cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie filling from three Christmas’ ago just throw those away!
When finished, your pantry should look beautiful and no more than 2/3 full.  Potential buyers will walk away, once again, saying, “I wish my pantry looked like that (…sigh).”
